RM 27-02 is a sports tourbillon watch designed by 〖RICHARD MILLE〗 for tennis player Rafael Nadal. It not only uses an ultra-light case, but also has super stability to withstand the huge acceleration at the moment of hitting the ball. In the men's 400-meter sprint final at the Rio Olympics, South African athlete Wayde van Niekerk crossed the finish line wearing this watch and won the gold medal.
RICHARD MILLE was inspired by the chassis of the racing car and integrated the hollow main plate and case of the movement to greatly improve the impact resistance. In order to make the watch lighter, Richard Mille also cooperated with North Thin Ply Technology to develop a hard and wear-resistant "quartz fiber" ultra-light material to make the case. The weight of the whole watch is like thin paper and has a rough texture like Damascus steel.
Through the mirror, you can clearly see the structure of the entire movement. The floating tourbillon is at 6 o'clock, and the Richard Mille unique fast-rotating barrel is at 12 o'clock, which can provide up to 52 hours of power storage and increase kinetic energy efficiency by 20% when winding.
The white bezel is fixed to the case by 12 grade 5 titanium screws, with an orange strap and a red crown. In order to improve reading recognition, the ends of the hour and minute hands are also emphasized with bright orange.
